Nifty Metal index rises more than 1% led by Hindustan Copper

The index’s rise was mainly driven by Hindustan Copper, Jindal Steel, and Tata Steel.

The Nifty Metal index was up by more than 1% during afternoon trade.

The gain was predominantly led by Hindustan Copper (+~5%), Jindal Steel (+3.7%), and Tata Steel (+2.5%), followed by Jinal Hisar and SAIL. 

All constituents of the index were trading in the green, except APL Apollo Tubes (-1.86) and MOIL (-0.35).

Meanwhile, base metal prices, except those of copper and nickel, on the Shanghai Futures Exchange were broadly up during morning trade in Asia today.

Hindustan Copper Ltd is currently trading at Rs64.05 up by Rs2.95 or 4.83% from its previous closing of Rs61.10 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs62 and has touched a high and low of Rs67 and Rs62 respectively. So far 36,46,665 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs5,653.09cr.

Jindal Steel & Power Ltd is currently trading at Rs225.20 up by Rs8 or 3.68% from its previous closing of Rs217.20 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs218 and has touched a high and low of Rs227.40 and Rs215.55 respectively. So far 1,12,26,945 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs21,023.80cr.

Tata Steel Ltd is currently trading at Rs606.35 up by Rs12.3 or 2.07% from its previous closing of Rs594.05 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs593.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs609 and Rs590.70 respectively. So far 74,85,863 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs66,926.29cr.
